Barnes helps the New Jersey Jackals down the Sioux City Explorers 9-6

Jeremy Barnes had two extra base hits, helping the New Jersey Jackals to a 9-6 victory over the Sioux City Explorers (6-6) on Tuesday at Lewis _ Clark Park.

He homered in the first inning, tripled in the third innings, and singled in the fifth inning.

The New Jersey Jackals relied on Isaac Pavlik to eat up innings en route to the win. Pavlik allowed three earned runs, six hits and one walk while striking out five over seven innings of work.

Eliezer Mesa had two extra-base hits for the Sioux City Explorers. He tripled in the sixth inning, doubled in the eighth inning, and singled in the ninth inning.

Jimmer Kennedy pitched lights out for the Sioux City Explorers. The New Jersey Jackals managed just two hits off of the the Sioux City Explorers' pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked none and struck out four during his 3 2/3 innings of work.

Josh Rainwater ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in four innings, walked one and struck out three.

Barnes, Chris Curran, aetano Guinta and Yasnanberty Arbelo helped lead the New Jersey Jackals. They combined for 10 hits and four RBIs.
