A loss looked likely for the LI COORS CREW (3-0) when they trailed by seven runs in the fifth inning, but the LI COORS CREW were able to capture the lead back with a an RBI double by Dave Sulz in the fifth inning, spurring the LI COORS CREW to a 19-17 win over the IGA SOFTBALL (0-2) at Hidden Pond Park two on Saturday.
With the LI COORS CREW trailing by one in the fifth inning, Sulz came to the plate and doubled, scoring Mike Arena.
Sulz racked up three RBIs on three hits for the LI COORS CREW. He singled in the fourth inning, doubled in the fifth inning, and tripled in the sixth inning.
The two teams combined for 36 runs and 53 hits, including zero extra base hits.
The LI COORS CREW staved off the IGA SOFTBALL as the IGA SOFTBALL were unable to match the LI COORS CREW down the stretch.
The IGA SOFTBALL scored five runs in the seventh on two hit into a fielder's choices and three singles. Despite their efforts, the IGA SOFTBALL couldn't get over the hump.
The LI COORS CREW pounded the IGA SOFTBALL pitching, as six hitters combined for 19 hits, 14 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
