Collins stars as the MINOR THREAT defeat the Long Island Legends, 23-13

Monday was a great day for mickey collins, as he hit three home runs to carry the MINOR THREAT (1-0) to a 23-13 victory over the Long Island Legends (0-1) at Bellport Field #2 in six innings.

Collins racked up eight RBIs on three hits for the MINOR THREAT. He homered in the third, fourth, and fifth innings.

The two teams combined for 36 runs and 39 hits, including zero extra base hits.

The MINOR THREAT blew out the Long Island Legends thanks to 25 hits, including zero extra base hits. The MINOR THREAT scored eight runs in the fifth on a two-run double by ed goldsborough, a three-run home run by collins, a solo home run by ricky williams, an RBI single by Mike Handwerker, and an RBI single by wally Leecock.

Ramon Rodrigues racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Long Island Legends. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the third and fourth innings.

Handwerker got his first win for the MINOR THREAT despite allowing 13 runs over five innings. He struck out none, walked three and surrendered 14 hits.

The MINOR THREAT easily handled the Long Island Legends pitching as seven hitters combined for 20 hits, 22 RBIs and 18 runs scored.

Jairo Almonte was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed 23 runs in five innings, walked three and struck out one.
