The Shake N Bake outlast the Cutters 2 in high-scoring affair, 20-8

The bats were busy at Shorefront Park on Friday, and when the dust cleared the Shake N Bake (3-0) had a 20-8 win over the Cutters two (1-2) in five innings.

The two teams combined for 38 hits in the game.

Fifteen runs in the opening three innings allowed the Shake N Bake to easily put away the Cutters two. A solo home run by Jordan Davis, a double by Pat Dileo jr, a triple by Pat Dileo Sr, a groundout by Steve Scala, and a two-run triple by Jimmy Gleason in the first inning and an RBI double by Davis, an RBI double by Dileo jr, a three-run home run by Dileo Sr, a solo home run by Gleason, and an RBI single by Rich Gatto during the second inning helped the Shake N Bake put some runs on the board early.

Davis put himself in scoring position with four extra-base hits for the Shake N Bake.

Mark Jikenez had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the second and third innings and singled in the fifth inning.

Dileo Sr got his first win for the Shake N Bake despite allowing eight runs over five innings. He struck out none, walked two and surrendered 16 hits.

The Shake N Bake easily handled the Cutters two pitching as seven hitters combined for 19 hits, 19 RBIs and 18 runs scored.

Lou Mangione was charged with the loss. He allowed 20 runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked four and struck out one.
