A walk-off single from Kimi Pohlman brought home the winning run for the Chicago Bandits (7-2) in a 1-0 victory over the USSSA Pride (6-3) at The Ballpark at Rosemont on Thursday.
The Chicago Bandits were led by Pohlman's hitting. Pohlman went 2-3 and drove in one. She doubled in the third inning and singled in the seventh inning.
Monica Abbott kept contact to a minimum, striking out 13 the USSSA Pride batters. The Chicago Bandits' pitcher tossed seven innings of shutout ball and allowed only six hits.
Sarah Pauly was charged with her second loss of the year. She lasted just six innings, walked none, struck out nine, and allowed one run.
