Troy Ramchuk went 2-3, sparking the AAA Angels (6-2) to a 9-4 victory in seven innings over the AAA Rockies (4-5) on Tuesday at Foothills Park.
He singled in the second inning and tripled in the third inning.The AAA Angels got the win thanks in large part to Howard Yau's dominant, six-strikeout performance. Yau allowed one earned run on three hits and one walk over four innings.
The AAA Rockies were led by Jeffery Derks's hitting. Derks went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first, fifth, and seventh innings.
Cole McPhee (1-1) took the loss for the AAA Rockies. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked one and struck out four.
