Todd Layton came up big at the dish and on the hill, leading the AAA Angels (1-0) to a 11-4 win over the AAA Dodgers on Saturday at Optimist #4.

Layton racked up two RBIs on three hits for the AAA Angels. He singled in the first and seventh innings.

Layton put together a nice outing. Layton held the AAA Dodgers (0-2) hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out none.

Nine runs in the opening three innings allowed the AAA Angels to easily put away the AAA Dodgers. , a two-run single by Cole Godin, an error, a two-run triple by Tanner Jesson, and a two-run single by Layton during the first inning and an RBI single by Godin in the second inning fueled the AAA Angels' offense early.

A bright spot for the AAA Dodgers in the defeat was Richard Martin, who allowed only two runs while striking out seven.

Brad Karas led the AAA Dodgers' offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He singled in the fourth and sixth innings.

Jesson recorded his first win of the year for the AAA Angels. He allowed one run over two innings. He struck out one, walked two and surrendered three hits.

Karas (0-1) took the loss for the AAA Dodgers. He allowed nine runs in three innings, walked five and struck out four.
