The East Texas Pump Jacks (3-2) jumped on the Acadiana Cane Cutters (1-5) early on their way to a 7-5 win on Wednesday at Driller Park, scoring three runs in the first inning.

The East Texas Pump Jacks held off the Acadiana Cane Cutters, as the Acadiana Cane Cutters were unable to overcome a four-run sixth inning deficit.

The Acadiana Cane Cutters scored on a two-run triple by Kyle Cedotal in the seventh inning and an RBI single by Colton Freeman in the ninth inning. Despite their efforts, the Acadiana Cane Cutters couldn't get over the hump.

Brooks Marlow racked up two RBIs on three hits for the East Texas Pump Jacks. He singled in the first and second innings and homered in the sixth inning.

Austin Watson brought the heat against the Acadiana Cane Cutters during his outing. The Acadiana Cane Cutters managed just two hits off of Watson, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out six during his six innings of work.

Kaleb Fontenot ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
