He homered in the second inning.David Frederick brought the heat against the West Virginia Miners during his outing. Frederick held the West Virginia Miners hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
A bright spot for the West Virginia Miners in the defeat was Quinton Yocom, who allowed only two runs while striking out nine.
Zach Wolfe got the win, running his season record to 1-1. Wolfe struck out none, walked one and gave up no hits.
Yocom was charged with his fifth loss of the year.
