The West Virginia Miners (27-15) beat the Slippery Rock Sliders (17-25) 12-5 on Saturday thanks to a four-run eighth inning.

Nick Paxton racked up five RBIs on one hit for the West Virginia Miners. He homered in the eighth inning.

Grant Zawadzki paced the Slippery Rock Sliders at the plate. Zawadzki went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second and eighth innings.

Evin Einhardt recorded his second win of the year for the West Virginia Miners. He allowed four runs over seven innings. He struck out three, walked three and surrendered nine hits.

Chris Tuma was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just three innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed five runs.

The West Virginia Miners easily handled the Slippery Rock Sliders pitching as six hitters combined for 10 hits, eight RBIs and 12 runs scored.
