A walk-off single from Lucas Leifeld brought home the winning run for the Springfield Sliders (6-29) in a 6-5 victory over the Quincy Gems at Robin Roberts Field on Monday.

Leifeld racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Springfield Sliders. He singled in the ninth inning.

Chance Simpson pitched six innings and allowed one earned run, four hits and four walks while striking out three.

Brady Arenson was effective even in defeat, mowing down five the Springfield Sliders batters and allowing three runs.

Jordan Pesko got the win, running his season record to 2-2. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Logan Blair (2-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed one run.
