After seven lead changes in Tuesday's game at Clemens Field, the Terre Haute Rex (8-4) finally pulled out a 9-4 win over the Hannibal Cavemen (6-6).
The Terre Haute Rex pulled out the win thanks to a strong fourth inning. A two-run error scored Nate Arnold and Tyler Wampler and gave the Terre Haute Rex the lead for good.
Wampler had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the second inning and tripled in the seventh inning.
Michael Marsinek put together a nice outing. The Hannibal Cavemen managed just one hit off of Marsinek, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his four innings of work.
Damon Waller was solid at the plate for the Hannibal Cavemen. Waller went 3-5 and drove in one. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the fifth and eighth innings.
John Patterson got the win, running his season record to 2-0. He allowed four runs over three innings. Patterson struck out one, walked one and gave up eight hits.
Devontae Wilson (1-1) took the loss for the Hannibal Cavemen. He allowed seven runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked one and struck out one.
