The Springfield Sliders make the most of 7 hits in 3-2 victory over the Terre Haute Rex

Both the Springfield Sliders (3-9) and the Terre Haute Rex (7-3) put runners aboard on Sunday, but it was the Springfield Sliders that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 3-2 win at Bob Warn Field at Sycamore Stad.

The Springfield Sliders would not relinquish the lead as the Terre Haute Rex were unable to weather a two-run fourth inning deficit.

The Terre Haute Rex scored on an RBI single by Atlee Schwab in the fifth inning and a solo home run by Zack Evans in the seventh inning. Despite their efforts, the Terre Haute Rex couldn't get over the hump.

Ryan Guedry put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Springfield Sliders. He homered in the fourth inning and doubled in the sixth inning.

Matt Rhodes picked up the win for the Springfield Sliders. Rhodes allowed two earned runs, seven hits and one walk while striking out three over seven innings of work.

Taylor Krugh couldn't get it done on the mound for the Terre Haute Rex, taking a loss. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out seven, and allowed three runs.
