The Slippery Rock Sliders (3-4) failed to take advantage of Matthew Calhoun's effort at the plate on Tuesday, losing 17-10 to the Butler Blue Sox (4-4) at Jack Critchfield Park .

Calhoun rocked the Butler Blue Sox with two home runs. Calhoun went 3-5 in the game with four RBIs and three runs scored. Calhoun homered in the second and ninth innings.

Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 27 total runs and 32 hits during the game. There were nine pitchers used in the game as the two managers searched for any way to finish it off.

The biggest inning for the Butler Blue Sox was the third. The Butler Blue Sox's bats caught fire leading to 10 runs.

It was a good day at the plate for the Butler Blue Sox's Justin Brozick. Brozick went 4-6, drove in one and scored three runs. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the third, fourth, and seventh innings.

Brett Sullivan got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed four runs over six innings. Sullivan struck out four, walked none and gave up 10 hits.

Will Waterman (0-1) took the loss for the Slippery Rock Sliders. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed no runs.
