The Butler Blue Sox (3-3) pounded the West Virginia Miners (2-4) on Thursday 8-2 at Pullman Park.

The Butler Blue Sox scored three runs in the sixth on an RBI single by Taylor Schmidt, an RBI double by Russell Clark, and an RBI single by Brett Sullivan.

Sullivan racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Butler Blue Sox.

A bright spot for the West Virginia Miners in the defeat was David Hess, who allowed only two runs while striking out six.

Reid Noah improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Butler Blue Sox. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered two hits.

Will Thomas was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed six runs in six innings, walked one and struck out three.
