The Cotuit Kettleers (12-8) failed to take advantage of Yale Rosen's effort at the plate on Thursday, losing 13-6 to the Falmouth Commodores (12-8) at Arnie Allen Diamond.
Rosen blasted two home runs for the Cotuit Kettleers. Rosen went 3-5 in the game with five RBIs and two runs scored. Rosen homered in the sixth and eighth innings.
Six runs in the opening three innings allowed the Falmouth Commodores to easily put away the Cotuit Kettleers. An RBI single by Kevin Newman, a two-run single by Kevin Cron, and a two-run home run by Conner Hale in the first inning helped the Falmouth Commodores put some runs on the board early.
Dylan Davis racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Falmouth Commodores. He singled in the third and fifth innings and homered in the sixth inning.
Daniel Koger handled the Cotuit Kettleers' lineup with ease, racking up six strikeouts. The Falmouth Commodores' pitcher gave up just three hits over four shutout innings.
Kevin Mooney improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Falmouth Commodores. He allowed three runs over three innings. Mooney struck out two, walked none and gave up five hits.
John Hochstatter couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Cotuit Kettleers, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked none and struck out one.
