The Windy City ThunderBolts (37-40) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 7-3 to the Joliet Slammers (32-45) on Tuesday.

An error gave the Joliet Slammers the lead in the fifth inning.

Grant DeBruin racked up two RBIs on four hits for the Joliet Slammers. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the second, fifth, and eighth innings.

The Windy City ThunderBolts couldn't get anything going as long as Brett Zawacki was on the mound. Zawacki held the Windy City ThunderBolts hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Zach Aakhus racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He doubled in the third inning.

Corey Kimes improved to 4-6 on the year by picking up the win for the Joliet Slammers. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out six, walked six and surrendered four hits.

Brian Oliver was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked four, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
