The Lake Erie Crushers (46-31) outlasted the Joliet Slammers (32-45) at Silver Cross Field 4-3 on Saturday after 10 innings.
With the score tied at three, Craig Hertler came to the plate and singled, plating Kevin Berard.
Hertler racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Lake Erie Crushers. He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the tenth inning.
Mickey Jannis brought the heat against the Joliet Slammers during his outing. The Joliet Slammers managed just three hits off of Jannis, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his 3 2/3 innings of work.
