Vladimir Frias clubbed two home runs to carry the Gateway Grizzlies (44-29) to an 11-4 win over the Rockford Aviators (27-45) at GCS Ballpark.

Six runs in the opening three innings allowed the Gateway Grizzlies to easily put away the Rockford Aviators. , , a two-run error, and a single by Chris McClendon in the second inning helped the Gateway Grizzlies put some runs on the board early.

Jason Sullivan brought the heat against the Rockford Aviators during his outing. Sullivan held the Rockford Aviators hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.

Gabe DeMarco did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Rockford Aviators, reaching base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the fourth inning and doubled in the eighth inning.

Nick Anderson couldn't get it done on the bump for the Rockford Aviators, taking a loss. He allowed eight runs in six innings, walked one and struck out five.

The Gateway Grizzlies were sparked by McClendon and Jon Myers, who teamed up for eight hits and eight RBIs.
