The Lake Erie Crushers (38-30) and the Traverse City Beach Bums (40-29) each put runners in scoring position on Monday, but the Lake Erie Crushers capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 4-3 win at All Pro Freight Stadium.

Seth Granger had two extra-base hits for the Lake Erie Crushers. He doubled in the first and seventh innings.

The Traverse City Beach Bums couldn't get anything going as long as Brandon Smith was pitching. Smith held the Traverse City Beach Bums hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.

Burny Mitchem (0-2) took the loss for the Traverse City Beach Bums. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed one run.

The Lake Erie Crushers were sparked by Craig Hertler and Granger, who teamed up for four hits and two RBIs.
