Chris Phelan hopes every outing could go as well as Friday, as Phelan struck out 11 batters to carry the Schaumburg Boomers (38-28) to a 10-1 victory over the Joliet Slammers (28-38) at Silver Cross Field.

The Schaumburg Boomers blew out the Joliet Slammers thanks to 11 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Schaumburg Boomers scored four runs in the fifth on an RBI single by Michael Valadez, an RBI single by Jordan Dean, and a two-run double by Gerard Hall.

Dean racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Schaumburg Boomers.

Corey Kimes was charged with his fifth loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked six, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
