Jannis allows no runs to lead the Lake Erie Crushers past the Southern Illinois Miners 5-4

Mickey Jannis kept the Southern Illinois Miners (31-25) off the board during his six innings of work and the Lake Erie Crushers (29-27) beat the Southern Illinois Miners, 5-4.

Jannis struck out seven and allowed three walks and four hits.

A walk-off single by Juan Sanchez gave the Lake Erie Crushers the win.

Sanchez reached base two times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the seventeenth inning.

Andrew Davis had two extra-base hits for the Lake Erie Crushers. He tripled in the seventh inning, doubled in the tenth inning, and singled in the first and twelfth innings.

Brad Duffy got the win, running his season record to 1-2. Duffy struck out two, walked two and gave up one hit.

Jon Mark Abbey ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.

The Lake Erie Crushers were sparked by Davis and Seth Granger, who teamed up for nine hits and two RBIs.
