The Florence Freedom (33-24) and the Evansville Otters (28-28) each put runners in scoring position on Thursday, but the Florence Freedom capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out an 8-4 win at UCMC Stadium.

Jacob Tanis racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Florence Freedom. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the third inning.

Daniel DeSimone looked sharp on the mound. The Evansville Otters managed just one hit off of the the Florence Freedom's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one during his three innings of work.

Frank Martinez racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Evansville Otters. He homered in the first inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Chuck Weaver recorded his third win of the year for the Florence Freedom. He allowed four runs over six innings. He struck out four, walked none and surrendered nine hits.

Ryan Gibson (0-3) took the loss for the Evansville Otters. He allowed seven runs in three innings, walked seven and struck out three.
