Ryan Soares went 2-5 and hit a home run, sparking the Windy City ThunderBolts (8-15) to a 9-5 victory over the Schaumburg Boomers (13-10) on Tuesday at Standard Bank Stadium.

Sean Mahley racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Schaumburg Boomers. He singled in the fifth inning and doubled in the sixth inning.

Daniel Cropper got his second win for the Windy City ThunderBolts despite allowing five runs over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out three, walked two and surrendered six hits.

Mike Giovenco ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in five innings, walked three and struck out four.
