The Schaumburg Boomers (11-8) pounded the River City Rascals (8-9) on Thursday 8-2 at T. R. Hughes Ballpark.

The Schaumburg Boomers scored two runs in the fourth on an RBI double by Gerard Hall, an RBI double by Hall, and an RBI single by Frank Pfister.

Hall did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Schaumburg Boomers, reaching base four times. He scored one run and had one RBI.

Mike Giovenco got the win for the Schaumburg Boomers thanks to 10 strikeouts. Giovenco allowed one earned run on three hits and three walks over six innings.

Scott Darylmple paced the River City Rascals at the plate. Darylmple went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second inning and homered in the fourth inning.

Casey Barnes (2-1) took the loss for the River City Rascals. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked two and struck out one.
