The Washington Wild Things survive the Windy City ThunderBolts 5-3 thanks to Rosa's late-game heroics

Jovan Rosa drove in the winning run to give the Washington Wild Things (10-5) the lead in the seventh inning, as the Washington Wild Things hung on to beat the Windy City ThunderBolts (4-12) 5-3 on Sunday.

After Gus Benusa singled, Rosa doubled, scoring Benusa.

The Washington Wild Things' Rosa was perfect at the dish, going 4-4. He singled in the first and third innings and doubled in the seventh innings.

Anthony Collazo handled the Windy City ThunderBolts' lineup with ease, racking up nine strikeouts. Collazo allowed one earned run on two hits and two walks over 4 2/3 innings.

Orlando Santos improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Washington Wild Things. He struck out four, walked none and surrendered two hits.

Mike Recchia (0-3) took the loss for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He lasted just seven innings, walked two, struck out 14, and allowed five runs.
