The Lake Erie Crushers make the most of 10 hits in 10-6 victory over the Florence Freedom

Both the Lake Erie Crushers (6-9) and the Florence Freedom (9-6) put runners aboard on Thursday, but it was the Lake Erie Crushers that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 10-6 win at All Pro Freight Stadium.

Emmanuel Quilles put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Lake Erie Crushers. He singled in the second inning, doubled in the fourth inning, and homered in the fifth inning.

The Florence Freedom were led by Ryan Skellie's hitting. Skellie went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the fourth inning and homered in the eighth inning.

The Lake Erie Crushers couldn't get anything going so long as Corey Deighan was on the hill. The Lake Erie Crushers managed just one hit off of Deighan, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one during his three innings of work.

Alex Kaminsky improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Lake Erie Crushers. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out six, walked one and surrendered 10 hits.

Brandon Mathes (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed 10 runs in five innings, walked one and struck out two.

The Lake Erie Crushers' Max Casper, Juan Sanchez, Quilles and Kevin Berard combined for seven hits and eight RBIs.
