The Windy City ThunderBolts outdone by Meletiche and the Frontier Greys, 7-2

Esteban Meletiche had two extra base hits, sparking the Frontier Greys (4-6) to a 7-2 victory over the Windy City ThunderBolts (3-8) on Monday at Standard Bank Stadium.

He homered in the fourth inning, doubled in the seventh inning, and singled in the eighth inning.

The Windy City ThunderBolts had no answer for Jon Shepard, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Shepard held the Windy City ThunderBolts hitless over 2 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Mike Recchia allowed two earned runs, five hits and three walks while striking out nine over 6 2/3 innings of work.

Eric Wooten recorded his third win of the year for the Frontier Greys. He allowed two runs over 6 2/3 innings. Wooten struck out five, walked none and gave up eight hits.

Recchia (0-2) took the loss for the Windy City ThunderBolts.
