The Florence Freedom (5-4) beat the Joliet Slammers (4-5) 3-2 but needed 10 innings to do so on Sunday at Silver Cross Field.

With the score tied at two in the tenth inning, Jim Jacquot came to the plate and singled, scoring Byron Wiley.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to five lead changes in the game.

Daniel DeSimone improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Florence Freedom. DeSimone struck out one, walked two and gave up two hits.

Justin Erasmus couldn't get it done on the bump for the Joliet Slammers, taking a loss. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.
