Things looked bleak for the Windy City ThunderBolts (3-5) when they trailed by three runs in the ninth inning, but the Windy City ThunderBolts recovered thanks to a key double in the ninth inning from Doug Joyce to pull out a 6-5 win over the Evansville Otters (3-4) at Bosse Field.

With the score tied at five in the ninth inning, Joyce came to the plate and doubled.

Joyce racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He doubled in the ninth inning.

Blayne Weller baffled the Evansville Otters, striking out 12 batters. Weller allowed one earned run, three hits and four walks over five innings.

A bright spot for the Evansville Otters in the defeat was Matt Zielinski, who allowed only two runs while striking out nine.

Tyler Claburn got the win, running his season record to 1-0. Claburn struck out two, walked none and gave up one hit.

Eric Massingham was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
