A six-run explosion in the fifth inning led the Florence Freedom (3-3) to a 10-4 win over the Schaumburg Boomers at UC Health Stadium on Thursday.

The game was back-and-forth heading into the fifth, with five lead changes.

Junior Arrojo racked up two RBIs on four hits for the Florence Freedom. He singled in the first, third, fifth, and sixth innings.

Brent Choban improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Florence Freedom. He allowed two runs over five innings. Choban struck out five, walked two and gave up four hits.

Danny Jimenez (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed eight runs in five innings, walked two and struck out four.
