An outstanding effort by Tucker Jensen led the Gateway Grizzlies (3-2) to a 2-0 win over the Joliet Slammers on Tuesday at GCS Ballpark.
Jensen racked up nine strikeouts in the the Gateway Grizzlies win. The Gateway Grizzlies' pitcher tossed seven innings of shutout ball and allowed only four hits.
Jon Myers was hot from the plate for the Gateway Grizzlies. Myers went 3-4 and scored one run. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the second and sixth innings.
Jacob Sanchez ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed two runs.
