The Schaumburg Boomers (4-0) and the Washington Wild Things (0-3) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Schaumburg Boomers that eventually took advantage of them in a 2-1 win at Schaumburg Baseball Stadium.

A bright spot for the Washington Wild Things in the defeat was Shawn Blackwell, who allowed only two runs while striking out five.
