The Evansville Otters' Clark comes through in the clutch, upends the Normal CornBelters, 8-7

Andrew Clark drove in the go-ahead run to give the Evansville Otters (1-2) the lead in the seventh inning, as the Evansville Otters hung on to beat the Normal CornBelters (2-1) 8-7 on Sunday.

C.J. Henry singled to get on base in the seventh. He then went from first to second on a groundout by Deaun Williams.

The Evansville Otters' Clark was perfect at the dish, going 4-4. He doubled in the seventh inning and singled in the second, fourth, and eighth innings.

The Evansville Otters staved off the Normal CornBelters as the Normal CornBelters were unable to match the Evansville Otters down the stretch.

The Normal CornBelters scored five runs in the eighth on two doubles, a solo home run by David Medina, and two singles. Unfortunately, the Normal CornBelters weren't able to take the lead back.

Matt Zielinski brought the heat against the Normal CornBelters during his outing. The Normal CornBelters managed just three hits off of Zielinski, who allowed two earned runs, walked three and struck out three during his six innings of work.

Coty Saranthus got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He struck out none, walked one and surrendered no hits.

Ross Davis (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
