Matt Rein hopes every outing could go as well as Saturday, as Rein tossed seven scoreless innings to carry the Lake Erie Crushers (1-1) to a 2-1 victory over the Gateway Grizzlies at All Pro Freight Stadium in 12 innings.

Seth Granger helped the Lake Erie Crushers pull ahead for the duration in the twelfth inning. After Daniel Bowman doubled, Granger singled, scoring Bowman.

Dave Middendorf improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Lake Erie Crushers. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Dan Eaton (0-1) took the loss for the Gateway Grizzlies (1-1). He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed one run.
