Drew Turbin went 0-1 as the Chugiak Chinooks (3-2) took home a 6-4 victory over the Matsu Miners (3-2) at Hermon Brothers Field on Sunday.
The Matsu Miners had no answer for Mike Jeffries, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Jeffries gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked four and struck out two during his four innings of work.
Ty Schlottmann looked sharp on the mound. Schlottmann held the Chugiak Chinooks hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
Devin Stanton recorded his first win of the year for the Chugiak Chinooks. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered no hits.
Patrick Kenney ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked three, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
