Viers helps the Anchorage Glacier Pilots down the Anchorage Bucs 8-6

The Anchorage Glacier Pilots (12-12) beat the Anchorage Bucs (13-9) 8-6 on Tuesday at Mulcahy Field behind Kevin Viers, who had two extra base hits.

He doubled in the fourth innings, singled in the sixth inning, and tripled in the eighth inning.

Ray Ashford improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Anchorage Glacier Pilots. He allowed one run over one inning. Ashford struck out two, walked one and gave up one hit.

Trevor Renfro couldn't get it done on the mound for the Anchorage Bucs, taking a loss. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked four, struck out one, and allowed three runs.

The Anchorage Glacier Pilots were sparked by Viers and Kewby Meyer, who teamed up for five hits and four RBIs.
