The Matsu Miners (11-9) didn't stand a chance on Friday, as the Anchorage Bucs (12-7) captured a blowout 9-1 win at Hermon Brothers Field.
The Anchorage Bucs scored four runs in the fourth on an RBI single by Lawton Langford, a two-run double by David Andriese, and a groundout by Cedric Vallieres.
Langford did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Anchorage Bucs, reaching base four times. He scored two runs and had one RBI.
The Matsu Miners had no answer for Tyler Wells, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Wells held the Matsu Miners hitless over 2 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out three.
Brenden Farney reached base four times in the game for the Matsu Miners. He singled in the first, third, and fifth innings.
David Herd improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Anchorage Bucs. He allowed one run over five innings. He struck out four, walked one and surrendered seven hits.
Trevor Bettencourt ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked five and struck out three.
