Early lead gives the Anchorage Bucs easy victory over the Alaska Goldpanners, 9-1

The Anchorage Bucs (1-0) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Alaska Goldpanners (1-1), recording a 9-1 victory on Wednesday at Mulcahy Field.

With five runs in the first three innings, the Anchorage Bucs left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

An RBI double by Anthony Gonsolin and a two-run double by Gonsolin during the first inning and a wild pitch, , and a fielder's choice in the second inning helped the Anchorage Bucs put some runs on the board early.

It was a good day at the plate for the Anchorage Bucs' Andy Crowley. Crowley went 3-4 and scored two runs. He doubled in the sixth inning and singled in the second and eighth innings.

Austin Stone brought the heat against the Alaska Goldpanners during his outing. The Alaska Goldpanners managed just three hits off of the the Anchorage Bucs' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked four and struck out three during his five innings of work.

Matt Milke (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
