The Anchorage Bucs (1-0) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Alaska Goldpanners (1-1), recording a 9-1 victory on Wednesday at Mulcahy Field.

An RBI double by Anthony Gonsolin and a two-run double by Gonsolin during the first inning and a wild pitch, , and a fielder's choice in the second inning helped the Anchorage Bucs put some runs on the board early.It was a good day at the plate for the Anchorage Bucs' Andy Crowley. Crowley went 3-4 and scored two runs. He doubled in the sixth inning and singled in the second and eighth innings.
