The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs fend off the Long Island Ducks' late push, hold on 7-5

The Long Island Ducks (8-19) weren't able to overcome the big hole they dug themselves into against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (12-17), and the Long Island Ducks lost 7-5 to the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs after falling behind by five runs in the seventh inning.

The Long Island Ducks scored three runs in the eighth on a three-run home run by Ray Navarrete. Unfortunately, the Long Island Ducks weren't able to take the lead back.

Cesar Nicolas racked up four RBIs on one hit for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. He homered in the second inning.

The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs relied on Ian Marshall to eat up innings en route to the win. Marshall allowed no earned runs, four hits and one walk while striking out four over seven innings of work.

Navarrete racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Long Island Ducks. He singled in the first inning and homered in the eighth inning.

Nick DeBarr (0-4) took the loss for the Long Island Ducks. He allowed seven runs in 6 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out five.
