The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs survive the Bridgeport Bluefish rally, escape with 4-3 victory

The Bridgeport Bluefish (10-11) weren't able to overcome the big hole they dug themselves into against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (8-14), and the Bridgeport Bluefish lost 4-3 to the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs after falling behind by two runs in the sixth inning.

The Bridgeport Bluefish scored one run in the eighth on two doubles. Despite their efforts, the Bridgeport Bluefish couldn't finish the comeback.

Brandon Jones boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 4-4 day at the plate to pace the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. He doubled in the second inning, homered in the fourth inning, and singled in the sixth and eighth innings.

Austin Krum was solid at the plate for the Bridgeport Bluefish. Krum went 3-4. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the second and seventh innings.

Daryl Thompson recorded his second win of the year for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. He allowed two runs over six innings. He struck out three, walked two and surrendered seven hits.

Keith Bilodeau (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
