The Lancaster Barnstormers (5-0) jumped out to an early lead on the Long Island Ducks (0-5) and captured an 8-2 victory on Tuesday at Clipper Magazine.

Six runs in the first three innings allowed the Lancaster Barnstormers to put the game away early.

An RBI single by Travis Denker, a two-run single by Daryle Ward, a sacrifice fly by Joe Mather, and a two-run home run by Kody Kirkland in the first inning fueled the Lancaster Barnstormers' offense early.

Kirkland racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Lancaster Barnstormers.

Bryant Nelson paced the Long Island Ducks at the plate. Nelson went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the seventh inning and singled in the ninth inning.

Will Savage recorded his first win of the year for the Lancaster Barnstormers. Savage struck out two, walked none and gave up two hits.

Bill Murphy couldn't get it done on the hill for the Long Island Ducks, taking a loss. He allowed eight runs in five innings, walked four and struck out four.
