An exceptional effort by Gabriel Hernandez spurred the Nashua Silver Knights (33-18) to a 19-11 win over the Seacoast Mavericks (21-30) on Wednesday at Leary Field.
Hernandez rocked the Seacoast Mavericks with two home runs. Hernandez went 2-4 in the game with four RBIs and four runs scored. Hernandez homered in the second and seventh innings.
Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 30 total runs and 33 hits during the game. Managers of the two teams seemingly emptied their bullpens in search of the win, as there were eight pitchers used in the game.
The Nashua Silver Knights left no doubt in the outcome with five runs in the ninth.
Cole Warren put together a nice outing. The Seacoast Mavericks managed just one hit off of Warren, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his 2 2/3 innings of work.
Brad Applin ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
The Nashua Silver Knights hammered the Seacoast Mavericks pitching as seven hitters had a field day, combining for 20 hits, 15 RBIs and 19 runs scored.
