The Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide (10-11) beat the Seacoast Mavericks 7-1 on Thursday at The Ball Park after a four-run explosion in the first inning.

C.J Picerni was solid at the plate for the Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide. Picerni went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first, third, and fifth innings.

The Seacoast Mavericks (9-12) had no answer for Michael Franzese, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Franzese held the Seacoast Mavericks hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out two.

Nick Whittaker improved to 3-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide. He allowed one run over five innings. Whittaker struck out three, walked two and gave up six hits.

Ty Sterner ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He allowed six runs in two innings, walked three and struck out one.
