A walk-off two-run home run from Joe Coyne brought home the winning run for the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (5-11) in a 9-7 victory over the Pittsfield Suns (9-9) at Doyle Field on Sunday.
Coyne racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs. He singled in the third and sixth innings and homered in the ninth inning.
Kyle Singleton was hot from the plate for the Pittsfield Suns. Singleton went 3-5, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the seventh inning and singled in the first and eighth innings.
David Montiverdi recorded his first win of the year for the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs. Montiverdi struck out two, walked one and gave up two hits.
Mike Geannelis was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
