The Rockville Express (25-19) shut the door early on the D.C. Grays (23-20), capturing an 8-2 victory on Sunday at Hoy Field.
The game was decided quickly as the Rockville Express exerted their will early with six runs in the first three innings.
An RBI single by Nathan Koslowski in the first inning and a fielder's choice and an RBI single by Will Kengor during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Rockville Express.Koslowski had a hot bat for the Rockville Express. Koslowski went 3-4, drove in one and scored two runs.
The D.C. Grays couldn't get anything going as long as John Kovalick was on the mound. Kovalick gave up just four hits, allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out two during his five innings of work.
DJ Miller was solid at the plate for the D.C. Grays. Miller went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the third inning and homered in the seventh inning.
Colin Kelly (2-2) took the loss for the D.C. Grays. He allowed six runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked none and struck out none.
