The Southern Maryland Nationals jump on the Alexandria Aces early and coast to 10-3 win

The Southern Maryland Nationals (3-2) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Alexandria Aces (1-3), recording a 10-3 victory on Saturday at Regency Furniture Stadium.

The game was decided quickly as the Southern Maryland Nationals exerted their will early with six runs in the first three innings.

An RBI single by Spencer Wolfe during the first inning supplied the early offense for the Southern Maryland Nationals.

The Southern Maryland Nationals were led by Ryan Metzler's hitting. Metzler went 4-5, drove in one and scored three runs. He singled in the second, third, and seventh innings and doubled in the eighth inning.

Bryan McHale put together a nice outing. McHale gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out four during his five innings of work.

Mitchell Aker (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out four.
