The Marysville Goldsox and the Atwater Aviators (4-7) volleyed the lead five times on Sunday, but the Marysville Goldsox came out on top for a 8-7 win on Sunday at Appeal-Democrat Park.

The Marysville Goldsox took the lead in the sixth inning and held on for the victory. Scored Kaden Kamoe and gave the Marysville Goldsox the lead for good.

The Marysville Goldsox held off the Atwater Aviators, as the Atwater Aviators were unable to overcome a two-run sixth inning deficit.

The Atwater Aviators scored on an error in the seventh inning and an RBI single by Nate Backes in the eighth inning. Still, the Atwater Aviators couldn't catch the Marysville Goldsox.

Shawn Mize got on base four times in the game for the Marysville Goldsox. He scored one run and had one RBI. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the second and fifth innings.

Brad Humphries got the win for the Marysville Goldsox. He allowed one run over 1 1/3 innings. Humphries struck out one, walked none and gave up no hits.

Jesse Pratt ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just zero innings, walked three, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
