The Nevada Big Horns (4-3) trailed by five in the fifth, but the Nevada Big Horns recovered thanks to a key error in the eighth inning from Taylor Higgins to pull out a 9-8 win in eight innings over the South Bay Storm (2-5) at South Valleys Complex on Saturday.

With the score tied at eight in the eighth inning, reached on an error, scoring Matt Page.

Higgins reached base one time in the game for the Nevada Big Horns.

Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 17 total runs and 22 hits during the game. Both bullpens were busy with six pitchers used in the game as the skippers of both squads tried to finish it off.

Anthony Roberts racked up two RBIs on four hits for the Nevada Big Horns. He homered in the fifth inning and singled in the second, fourth, and eighth innings.

It was a good day at the plate for the South Bay Storm's Jonathan James. James went 3-5, drove in one and scored three runs. He singled in the fourth and fifth innings and doubled in the seventh inning.

Page got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed two runs over two innings. Page struck out one, walked none and gave up three hits.

Julio Ponce (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
