The Harwich Mariners make the most of 9 hits in 9-7 victory over the Wareham Gatemen

The Harwich Mariners (10-12) and the Wareham Gatemen (10-10) each put runners in scoring position on Saturday, but the Harwich Mariners capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 9-7 win at Spillane Field.

Connor Powers had two extra-base hits for the Harwich Mariners. He homered in the second inning, singled in the seventh inning, and doubled in the eighth innings.

The Wareham Gatemen couldn't get anything going so long as Glenn Troyanowski was on the hill. The Wareham Gatemen managed just one hit off of the the Harwich Mariners' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out five during his two innings of work.

Brett Eibner had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the second inning, tripled in the third inning, and singled in the seventh inning.

Justin Wright recorded his first win of the year for the Harwich Mariners. He allowed one run over one inning. Wright struck out one, walked none and gave up two hits.

David Fischer (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just zero innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.

The Harwich Mariners were sparked by Stuart Tapley and Powers, who teamed up for four hits and three RBIs.
